Norma J. Brace

Norma J. (Case) Brace of Montour Falls, NY, formerly of Caton, NY, passed away on March 10, 2018 at Bethany Manor Nursing Home in Horseheads, NY.
Norma was born June 29, 1930 to Frances and Levi Case in Big Flats, NY. Norma married Raymond Brace March 19, 1949 in Corning, NY. Raymond predeceased Norma on March 21, 1989.
Norma is survived by her children, Errol “Chip” Brace of Malabar, FL, Diana (Anthony) Povero of Montour Falls, NY, Patricia (Oliver) Dotts of Corning, NY, Karen (William) Kittner of Cooper Plains, NY and Melissa (Peter) Vimislik of Fairport, NY.
Norma is also survived by her grandchildren, Angela (Josh) McDaniel and Timothy Brace of Florida, Raymond (Brandy Kennedy) Hoagland of Ovid, NY, Ivan (Jessica) Dotts and Joshua Dotts of Corning, NY, Ryan (Stacy) Kittner of Painted Post, NY, Christopher (Allison) Kittner of Coopers Plains, NY, and Bailey and Collin Vimislik of Fairport, NY; great-grandchildren, Owen McDaniel, Cora Hoagland, Oliver Dotts, McKenna Morse, Paxton Kittner, and Paisley and Hudson Kittner.
Norma is also survived by her brother Clifton (Linda) Case and sisters Barbara Elliott and Janet (Frederick) Osborne, sister-in-law Dawn (Milton) Allen, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Charles and Lloyd Case, Ila Saunders and Vera Mastenbrook.
Our mother loved our family get togethers. She so enjoyed all of her grandchildren. She was the best Mom and Nana. Her family was everything to her.
Norma was a member and Sunday school teacher at The United Methodist Church in Caton, NY. She was also a member of The Caton Volunteer Fire Department auxiliary and The Corning Elks Club. She belonged to The Eastern Star and The Red Hat Society. She volunteered at Schuyler Hospital and Meals on Wheels.
Norma owned The Rambling Brook Inn in Montour Falls, NY for 20 years. She cooked many fish fries and other wonderful meals at the RBI. She also met many wonderful people there.
The first year after her retirement from the RBI, she volunteered in a kindergarten class at B.C. Cate school in Montour Falls, NY. She so enjoyed all the little children.
Our Mom and Nana will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.
Funeral Services will be held at Acly-Stover Funeral Home, 327 E. 2nd St., Corning, on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mary Ann Bernard officiating. Committal prayers and Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Caton, NY.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to The Children's Miracle Network at Arnot Ogden Medical Center Elmira, NY or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
We would also like to thank all the staff at Bethany Manor, especially the aides and nurses on Skill 2. Thank you for all the loving care you gave our Mom over the years.
