With broken hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Patricia Jean McMillan of Corning, New York, who left this world on February 16, 2026, at Robert Packer Hospital. She was 71 years old.

Born on April 8, 1954, in Corning, she was the cherished daughter of Stanley and Phyllis (Jones) Bunevitch. Patricia was a lifelong member of the Corning community, a place she loved deeply and where she built a life centered on family, loyalty, and hard work.

For more than 40 years, Patricia was a devoted facilities team member at Corning Incorporated. She took tremendous pride in her work, caring for her workplace with dedication and attention to detail. She believed that no job was too small if it was done with heart, and she carried that same commitment into every part of her life.

Patricia’s greatest love was her family. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Johna McMillan Matusick of Florida and Theresa McMillan of Corning; her brother, Gerry Wray of Corning. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren Kait (Jacob) Rodriguez, Regan Matusick, Ethan Matusick and Tylor LeBaron; niece and nephew Jason Bunevitch, and Jessica Jo Bailey, each of whom she loved dearly.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband John McMillan, sister Theresa Ferry and her beloved partner of many years, Lon Bythwood.

Nothing brought Patricia more happiness than her grandchildren. She adored them beyond measure and treasured time spent sitting by her pool, soaking up the sun, laughing, and making memories that will now be cherished forever. She enjoyed playing her lottery numbers, trying her luck at the casino, and celebrating life’s little joys.

Patricia was strong-willed, vibrant, and wonderfully feisty, small in stature but larger than life in personality. She loved fiercely, spoke her mind, and protected those she cared about with everything she had. Beneath her tough exterior was a deeply loving and loyal heart.

Her faithful dogs, Molly, Samantha, and Simon, were constant companions and brought her endless comfort and joy.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her love, strength, and unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
