Pre-Planning

To provide for you and your family's security, we offer pre-need funeral plans. By taking care of the details of your funeral now, you can arrange the funeral service you prefer with confidence and peace of mind, easing the burden of a funeral on your loved ones later. We are here for you 24 hours a day.

Visitation, a Memorial Service or a Funeral Service

A formal visitation provides a time and place for you to offer the family your expression of sorrow and sympathy. Visitation is typically held at the funeral home, and the deceased is typically present so that you can pay your last respects. A memorial service is a service without the deceased present. The deceased is present at a funeral service. The same rules of etiquette apply.

Video Tributes

A Video Tribute is a professionally crafted video production which consists of digital images, video, and/or photos of your loved one, which are then combined and played simultaneously with the music or your choice. These video tributes can be played at a Memorial Service or even uploaded as an online memorial. Family and friends always enjoy reflecting back on the life of a loved one, and celebrating the wonderful memories shared by all, which is the exact purpose of a DVD Tribute.

Cremation

Cremation is a process in which intense heat is used to transform the body back to its basic elements. The body, enclosed in a container approved for cremation, is placed in a cremation chamber. The soft tissue is vaporized. What remains is not ashes, but bone fragments weighing from three to nine pounds on average. This is what is contained in thecremation urn.

Committal Service

A committal service is a brief ritual involving prayer at the graveside following the funeral. Members of the immediate family and close friends of the deceased gather as the closed casket is lowered into the ground. Sometimes a family member will shovel the first dirt onto the casket. Family members and friends may throw flowers into the grave.

After-Care

Our desire here at Acly-Stover Funeral Home is to be here when you need us. One way that we do this is by providing our families with resources for grief support. Once such resource is CareFirst which provides support groups and individual counseling for those dealing with the loss of a loved one, free of charge.
